GRILLO SpA was founded back in 1953 under the name "OFFICINE PINZA" thanks to an innovative project the then twenty year old Benito Pinza invented the first GRILLO walking tractor, from which, since 1957 the company would be called; this year is a milestone in the history of the fascinating adventure in the world of agricultural mechanisation.
GRILLO has been designing and producing for over 50 years machines for professional agriculture, green spaces maintenance as well as for domestic use in private house gardens.
Thanks to the CL 62’s maneuverability cutting high grass and other vegetation becomes quick and efficient. Uneven ground, steep slopes and different type of obstacles never present a problem for the CL 62! Its perfect weight distribution and special tractor tires provide exceptional grip in all conditions. The cutter deck houses a 620 mm diameter, single blade, which produces a very good finish when mowing lawns, making it an ideal machine for both professional and domestic use.
The cutter deck of the CL 62 is mounted at the front therefore allowing the operator to cut under low branches and bushes. High grass, coppices and bushes are guided into the cutter deck and cut by the blade which is formed from special steel. The cut material is discharged out of the rear. If necessary the cutter deck’s front aperture will lift up automatically when entering high vegetation without crushing it down, and considerably increases the efficiency of the cutter.
The tension of the cutter deck belt is self-adjusting and the belt always works in a horizontal plane.
The cutter deck is completely made of steel, its cutting height can be adjusted from a minimum of 50 up to a maximum of 110 mm. The adjustment is progressive and can be easily regulated by means of a hand wheel.
The cutter decks blade tips are engineered with a special profile so as to reduce noise and guarantee an excellent quality cut even on English lawns.
The blades profile is reversible with a double cutting edge: when one edge is worn out its possible to reverse the blade and use the other second cutting edge.
The 110 mm maximum cutting height is ideal especially when the ground is uneven and also to avoid mounds in the surface.
The cutter deck has a solid front tire. While cutting across a slope, the rotation of the front wheel can be locked in order to ease the forward movement. Its locking/unlocking is very easy and do not require any tools.
The machine was designed with even weight distribution resulting in a very low center of gravity producing a perfectly balanced machine.
During cutting operation, the handle bar can be operated with one hand only so that it is possible to adjust the forward and reverse movement via the control lever positioned on the handlebar. This system of adjustment for the forward movement is very practical when cutting on slopes, near trees or other obstacles or when cutting bushes or other kind of shrubs.
The CL62 handlebar can be adjusted 2 ways: in height, to adapt to the operator, and laterally to facilitate cutting operations in difficult conditions such as under branches or in the presence of many obstacles.
The CL62 transmission is hydrostatic, speed is continuously variable and ranges from 0 to 6 km/h and 3,5 km/h in reverse. The CL62 is fitted with a disc brake which enables the machine to stop on slopes. All controls are in comfortable position, including the levers for the adjustment of the handlebar.
The Grillo CL62 is powered by a Briggs and Stratton Intek 950E series engine. This OHV petrol engine has a 223cc displacement and incorporates the latest technical innovations ensuring reliability, low emissions, reduced consumption, high performance and vibrations which are reduced to the minimum. The engine, equipped with Ready Start System, is very easy to start. The machine, unique in its type, is fitted with 4 ant-vibration blocks on the engine support which isolate engine vibrations from the rest of the chassis and ensures a comfortable operation of the brush cutter.
The CL 62 can be easily placed in a vertical position by simply placing the handlebar on the ground. Maintenance and cleaning of the cutting deck will so be easily accessible.
All components, from the simplest to the most complex, are of a high quality standard. Chassis, handlebar, cutting deck, everything is built by Grillo in Italy by using only premium materials and cutting edge technology. All this to achieve a constant and 100% controlled high level quality. Varnishing of Grillo machines consists of a double electrostatic powder coated process. At the beginning there are the washing baths and the preparation, then a first protective coat is applied together with the baking in the oven, this turns out to be the best basis for the application of the finishing. The second coat consists of powder coating and further baking in the oven at 190°C to produce the characteristic hardness and brilliance.
All CL 62 have been mounted with care in every detail and tested scrupulously by specialised personnel. Final inspection means a machine whose engine has been run in order to check its performance. This is a further and final guarantee of a high quality product. CL 62, as with all Grillo products, was projected and built to last and retain its value for many years. They are distributed and serviced by a widespread Grillo specialist dealer net. Spare parts remain available also after a lot of years.
Thanks to the CL 75’s maneuverability, cutting high grass and other vegetation becomes quick and efficient. Uneven ground, steep slopes and different types of obstacles do not present a problem for the CL 75!. The perfect weight distribution and the special tractor tyres give great adherence to the ground under all conditions. The cutter deck has a single blade with swinging tips, producing a very good finish even when mowing grass, making it an ideal machine for grass care both for the professional or domestic user.
The deck of the CL 75 is mounted at the front therefore allowing the operator to cut under low positioned branches or bushes. High grass, coppices and bushes are guided into the cutter deck and cut by the blade with (shock-resistant) swinging tips which are made from special steel, the cut material is then discharged out of the rear. If necessary the cutter deck’s front aperture will lift up automatically when entering high vegetation without crushing in down, which considerably increases the efficiency of the machine.
The deck is completely made of steel, the cutting height can be adjusted from a minimum of 50mm up to a maximum 150 mm. The adjustment is progressive and can easily be regulated by means of a hand wheel. The cutter deck is kept parallel to the ground in all positions. The cutter decks blade tips are produced with a special profile to reduce noise and produce an excellent quality cut even on English lawns! The 150 mm maximum cutting height is ideal especially when the ground is very uneven and also to avoid striking the soil. The deck’s front wheel is made of solid rubber, i.e. puncture-proof!
CL 75 has a perfect weight distribution and a low centre of gravity. The result is perfect balance! It is possible to use the handlebar with one hand whilst working; this allows the adjustment of the drive and engagement of the reverse gear by a simple lever. When cutting on slopes, near trees and obstacles or if you are cutting in coppices and bushes near low branches, adjusting the grass cutter’s drive so easily turns out to be a very useful addition!
The handlebar of the CL 75 has a double adjustment device, ie. height adjustment, in order to meet the operators’ requirements, and lateral adjustment to make cutting easier in difficult areas such as under low positioned branches or in the presence of obstacles.
Also under extreme conditions such as a very steep slope or uneven ground, mowing is easy thanks to the 4 ply wheels mounted on ball bearings and equipped with differential lock.
The CL 75’s transmission is hydrostatic with differential lock. It is possible to adjust the speed progressively by means of a lever on the handlebar from 0 to 6 km/h and in reverse gear up to 3,5 km/h. The CL 75 has parking brake enabling you to keep the machine stable even on slopes. All controls are in a comfortable position including the handlebar adjusting levers.
The CL 75 is powered by a Honda GXV340 OHV petrol engine with integrated fuel tank having 2,1ltrs capacity. The single cylinder engine has a displacement of 337cc and features all the latest innovations, giving great reliability, low emissions, reduced consumption, high performance and vibration reduced to the minimum, The engine’s manual recoil start is easy and reliable thanks to the particular design of the camshaft, which, during start-up, opens the exhaust valve slightly. The engine is equipped with a lubrication pump allowing the machine to work on slopes without damaging the engine itself.
The CL 75 can be easily be stood in a vertical position by simply placing the handlebar on the ground. Maintenance and cleaning of the cutter deck is then easily achieved.
Belt tension of the cutter deck is self-adjusting; there is also a parallelogram lift system, that regulates the cutter deck’s height, and this system gives the belt reliability and longevity as well as the bearings.
All components, from the simplest to the most complex, are of a high quality standard. Chassis, handlebar, cutter deck, are all manufactured by Grillo using only premium materials and cutting edge technology. All this to achieve a constant and 100% controlled high level quality.
